Some of you may not know this, but I am a huge gamer. In particular, my favorite game of all time is Guild Wars, a computer game which came out in 2005. While it has been a long 7 years, there is finally a Guild Wars 2 coming out at the end of August in 2012. It may already be out by the time you are reading this.

Needless to say, I am pretty excited and between my work and family, I already do not have a lot of free time. Due to this, I plan on throwing in the towel on New Mexico Politico for awhile since most of my free time outside of my responsibilities is going to be dedicated to the release of Guild Wars 2.

I already have done a lot of preparation for the game. I read an article on the best computer for Guild Wars 2 and picked up a new computer that can easily run the game. I know a lot of people are using PCs that are several years old so it was finally time for me to get a powerful gaming rig that could handle Guild Wars 2 with ease.

My new baby.

The big thing about Guild Wars 2 is that since most of the player vs player action features 50+ players at once all fighting the same targets, you need a fast computer and internet connection to be able to handle all the action. This new computer will really come in handy for such battles. You need at least 1024mb video card; my 512 mb card on my old computer could barely run the game and it had to use the worst possible settings.

In addition to a new computer, I have been researching the best strategies and tactics for the game. I think I am going to play a Charr engineer. I really like that they are a decent ranged class plus I like the starting city and area of the Charr the best. The human area is just too crowded and as a result it is hard to complete your quests with the millions of other players crawling all over the zone!
